Rakshabandhan Celebration 2025

Rakshabandhan Celebration 2025

At ASIS, we believe in fostering awareness of India’s rich cultural diversity while encouraging our learners to appreciate the unique significance of every festival. Ahead of the festive season, learners engaged in an insightful class discussion on upcoming celebrations, reflecting on how each one represents a vibrant part of our country’s traditions.
Focusing on Rakshabandhan, the discussion was guided by thought-provoking questions:
This interactive exchange helped learners explore the symbolism of the sacred sibling bond and understand how traditions connect us to our cultural roots. Linking this to Science, they also discovered why Rakshabandhan coincides with a full moon day, gaining insight into lunar phases and seasonal cycles.

Promoting environmental consciousness, our learners took part in a creative, eco-friendly activity:
Girls crafted a plantable tie-sow-grow rakhi using seeds and marigold leaves.
Boys designed a plantable greeting card for their sisters, using the same sustainable materials.

Through this initiative, students embraced the idea of celebrating mindfully, choosing materials that protect the planet while adding personal meaning to their gifts. The rakhis and cards were lovingly taken home and presented to siblings, making Rakshabandhan a celebration of love, tradition, and environmental responsibility.
