Marathi Diwas

Marathi Diwas

At ASIS, we celebrated the spirit, richness, and pride of Maharashtra on the occasion of Marathi Diwas with great enthusiasm and cultural fervour. The day served as a wonderful opportunity for our school community to honour the Marathi language and the cultural heritage it represents. Marathi Diwas is observed to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary poet Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar, fondly known as Kusumagraj, whose remarkable literary contributions have greatly enriched Marathi literature and culture.
Our teachers added vibrant charm to the celebration by dressing in traditional Maharashtrian attire. Adorned with elegant naths and proudly wearing colourful fetas, they beautifully embraced the cultural essence of the day.
Learners participated with great enthusiasm by sharing the significance of Marathi Diwas and reflecting on Maharashtra’s rich traditions and cultural diversity. They highlighted the importance of preserving and celebrating our mother tongue. Students confidently recited poems and narrated stories in Marathi, paying heartfelt tribute to the literary legacy of great poets. Adding a creative touch to the celebrations, students also engaged in writing activities where they crafted sentences in Marathi and expressed their thoughts with pride and joy. The celebration was a beautiful reflection of unity in diversity, reminding us that language is not merely a means of communication but a powerful bridge that connects us to our roots, heritage, and identity.
