Introduction to Student Council and Campaign
Bunts Sangha’s Arathi Shetty ICON School (ASIS) took a significant step towards fostering student leadership by introducing learners of Grades 4 to 8 to the Student Council and its vital role within the school community.
The orientation session provided learners with valuable insights into the purpose of the Student Council, the various leadership positions, and the qualities and responsibilities expected of student leaders. Learners explored the importance of integrity, teamwork, communication, accountability, and service, gaining a deeper understanding of how leadership is about creating a positive impact and being a responsible role model.
Following the orientation, aspiring candidates were given the opportunity to participate in a campaign, where they confidently presented their ideas, shared their vision for the school, and encouraged their peers to support them. The campaign served as an excellent platform for learners to develop public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and experience the democratic process in a meaningful and engaging manner.
The initiative not only inspired learners to step forward as future leaders but also reinforced the values of responsibility, collaboration, and active participation. At ASIS, we believe that leadership is nurtured through opportunity, experience, and reflection, empowering our learners to become confident, compassionate, and responsible citizens of tomorrow.
