Lohri Celebration
ASIS came alive with colour, rhythm, and cheer as Pre-Primary, Primary, and Secondary learners celebrated the joyous festival of Lohri. Students learned that Lohri is celebrated a day prior, especially in Punjab, as a harvest festival that marks gratitude, prosperity, and new beginnings.
Understanding the tradition behind the celebration, learners discovered the significance of the bonfire, around which families and communities gather to sing, dance, and rejoice. Bringing this cultural experience to life, our students enthusiastically danced to the beats of the dhol, soaking in the festive spirit with smiles and energy all around.
The celebration was a beautiful blend of learning and joy, helping students appreciate India’s rich cultural heritage while celebrating together as one vibrant community.
Learners also understood the significance for the festival of Makarsankranti and discussed how it is celebrated across India. Learners ate Til Gud Ladoos and carried colourful Kites back home!
Festivals teach us unity, gratitude, and the joy of togetherness.
