Visit to the Gurudwara

As part of our cultural learning and celebration of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the students of Bunts Sangha’s Arathi Shetty International School had the privilege of visiting the Gurudwara at Dahisar East. This enriching field trip aimed to instil values of peace, unity, and gratitude while offering students a firsthand experience of the Sikh culture and traditions.
The students, accompanied by their teachers and support staff, arrived at the Gurudwara at 10:00 a.m. They were warmly welcomed by the Gurudwara’s representatives, who kindly guided them throughout the visit. The serene ambiance of the holy place provided the children with a unique opportunity to observe and experience the rituals and practices of the Sikh community.
The visit began with the children listening to a brief explanation of the significance of Guru Nanak Jayanti and the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The representatives explained the key values of equality, kindness, and community service, which are central to Sikhism.
The students observed the prayer rituals and the recitation of the holy hymns, which created a spiritual and peaceful environment. They showed great respect by folding their hands and maintaining silence during the prayers. The children also received Prasad as a token of blessing, which they accepted with gratitude.
This visit not only deepened their understanding of the Sikh faith but also fostered a sense of respect for diverse cultures and traditions. It was an enriching experience that taught them valuable lessons about unity and harmony.

Children’s Day and Halloween Celebration

On the joyous occasion of Children’s Day, combined with the festive spirit of Halloween, our school hosted an exciting celebration on 14th November 2024. The event was a delightful blend of fun, creativity, and learning, designed to engage and entertain our little learners.
The children came dressed as their favorite Halloween characters, transforming the school into a vibrant display of imaginative costumes. From spooky witches to cheerful pumpkins, the colorful outfits brought the Halloween spirit to life and filled the environment with excitement and enthusiasm.
A variety of engaging games were organized for the students, tailored to their age and interests. These included Halloween-themed activities like “Pin the Face on the Pumpkin,” “Feed the Casper,” and “Knock Down the Glass Tower.” The games were met with cheers and laughter as the children showcased their creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm.
In addition to the games, an art and craft session was held where students expressed their artistic talents. They created Halloween craft, such as Casper with paper plates. This hands-on activity allowed the children to unleash their creativity while honing their fine motor skills.
The celebration concluded with a reflection on the importance of Children’s Day, emphasizing the value of joy, learning, and creativity in the lives of young minds. It was a day filled with smiles, laughter, and memorable moments for everyone involved.
The event not only allowed the students to explore the festive traditions of Halloween but also provided a platform for them to showcase their talents and build stronger bonds with their peers and teachers.

Breakfast with Mum

We celebrated ‘Breakfast with Mum’ on 18th October 2024, a delightful and heartwarming event that emphasized the importance of starting the day with a healthy breakfast. A nutritious morning meal boosts energy levels and enhances the ability to concentrate, which is vital for the overall well-being of children. We were thrilled to invite all early years’ mothers to join us at the school for a special breakfast bonding time with their children.
The mothers were encouraged to bring along a variety of healthy breakfast options, showcasing cuisines from around the world. The event highlighted the benefits of eating nutritious food, and the mums graciously shared dishes from diverse cultures, such as Chinese, Japanese, Lebanese, Italian, Mexican, and Indian cuisine. They also brought along fruit and vegetable platters, as well as refreshing fruit juices (in small tetra packs), adding to the richness of the breakfast spread.
Throughout the morning, the mothers took the opportunity to explain the benefits of healthy eating to their children, sharing how nutritious meals can fuel the body and mind for the day ahead. The children were delighted to enjoy breakfast with their mums, savouring the delicious food while learning valuable lessons about health and nutrition.
The event was filled with joy, laughter, and a sense of togetherness. Both the children and mothers enjoyed the experience, creating cherished memories. The ‘Breakfast with Mum’ event not only fostered a deeper connection between parent and child but also reinforced the importance of making healthy food choices in a fun and engaging way.

Navratri Celebration

The day was filled with lively dances, where students enjoyed twirling and tapping their sticks in rhythm with the music, immersing themselves in the joy and energy of the celebration.
Adding a special touch to the day was a delightful puppet show depicting the story of Ram and Ravana. The children watched in fascination as the tale unfolded, learning about the victory of good over evil, the essence of Dussehra. Through this storytelling, students were introduced to important cultural values and gained a deeper understanding of this cherished festival’s significance. The experience of learning, celebrating, and sharing in traditional customs made this Navratri an unforgettable day for everyone involved.
